UAE's digital-first approach fuels rapid e-commerce growth

The UAE's e-commerce landscape continues to shine as one of the most promising globally, driven by high internet usage, strong purchasing power, and a tech-savvy population.

With robust government support and rapid digital infrastructure development, the country has set the benchmark for online retail in the region and attracting international businesses keen to tap into its potential.

The UAE’s e-commerce market reached Dhs32.3 billion ($8.8 billion) in 2024 and is projected to surpass Dhs50.6 billion ($13.8 billion) by 2029, according to a report released by EZDubai, the fully dedicated e-commerce zone in Dubai South.

The fifth edition of the “E-Commerce Report in the Mena Region 2024” was compiled in collaboration with Euromonitor International, the world’s leading provider for global business intelligence, market analysis and consumer insights.

In 2024, the top three product categories by value were apparel and footwear, consumer electronics, and home care.
