UAE shuttlers impress at Para Badminton event

The UAE's campaign at the 6th Fazza Dubai Para Badminton International 2025 came to an end after Jamal Al Bedwawi lost his men’s singles Wheelchair WH2 quarter-finals at the Shabab Al Ahli Club.

Up against the higher ranked Jeong Jae-gun, the 48-year-old seasoned player from Gyeongju, South Korea, Bedwawi came out with his best and even surprised the Korean a few times but wasn't enough. The Korean won 21-10, 21-6.

“It was a good game - I gave my best. There were many learning’s to take - about technique, shuttle control and confidence. I want to have that kind of confidence like him (Jeong). The feeling is very strong to go back to training and improve,” said the promising 26-year-old player from UAE.

UAE coach Aditya Singh was all praise for the home team’s show saying that the improvements were clearly evident in the matches.

“Compared to the last Fazza Championships, all the players have made significant improvement in their overall game - technique, approach, confidence, and strokes. We have had a good few weeks of preparation ahead of the Championships and the results paid off well.
