The Emirati humanitarian aid team stationed in the city of Arish, Egypt, oversees the meticulous loading of aid, monitors its delivery through the Rafah crossing, and ensures its arrival to beneficiaries in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Israel's military kept up its assault on Gaza City and the wider Gaza Strip on Saturday, dismantling underground shafts and booby-trapped structures in attacks that left 34 Palestinians dead, according to Gazan health authorities.
Portugal's Foreign Affairs Ministry said it will recognise a Palestinian state on Sunday.
The Iberian country had previously announced its plans to do so but has now set an official date.
Portugal is among other Western nations, including the UK, France, Canada, Australia, Malta, Belgium and Luxembourg, expected to recognise Palestinian statehood in the coming days.
Egypt has praised Portugal's decision to recognise the state of Palestine during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
