|July 23, 2025
The UAE topped the global rankings for the safest countries in mid-2025, according to the Numbeo Safety Index, a platform that collects data from users around the world. With a score of 85.2 points on the index, the UAE ranked first, surpassing countries such as Andorra, Qatar, Taiwan, and Macau, which ranked second.
Home to more than 200 nationalities, the UAE is renowned for its safe environment and high quality of life. It ranked second in rankings of March 2025, behind Andorra, but regained the top spot in the biannual edition. Andorra came second with a score of 84.8, followed by Qatar with 84.6 and then Taiwan and Macau.
Saudi Arabia ranked the 14th in the region, followed by Bahrain in the 15th place, Kuwait in the 38th place, Jordan in 54th place and Pakistan in the 62nd place. The Philippines and India ranked 66th and 67th, respectively.
By contrast, the United Kingdom came in the 86th place with 51.6 points, while the United States came in the 91st place with 50.8 points. This reflects a decline in residents’ sense of security in these countries.
According to Numbeo's Crime and Safety Index, Abu Dhabi is the safest city in the world at city level, scoring 88.2 points in the safety index and recording the lowest crime rate of 11.8 points. Meanwhile, Dubai ranked fifth in the world, reflecting the UAE's significant progress in consolidating security and stability.
