SRTA partially closes University City road until March 1

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) is initiating a partial closure of the road leading to University City Hall.
This measure is part of the preparations for the Sharjah Light Festival and is being carried out in collaboration with the Sharjah Police and other relevant departments.The initiative aims to streamline traffic management and prioritise the safety of road users throughout the festival events.
The closure is scheduled to start on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, and will remain in effect until Sunday, March 1, 2026. It will impact a portion of the road leading directly to University City Hall, with traffic flow maintained through pre-approved temporary diversions and alternative routes.
This measure is part of a broader traffic management plan aimed at addressing the expected rise in traffic during the festival season.
