Opposition stalls Kerala House over gold theft issue

The Kerala legislature plunged into turmoil on Thursday as the Congress-led opposition members continued their vigorous protests, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House.
They demand the resignation of VN Vasavan, the minister in charge of temple affairs, over the disappearance of a substantial amount of gold from the Sabarimala hill shrine.
They also called for an apology from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for body-shaming one of them after they disrupted the proceedings and left the floor on Wednesday.
Outside the Assembly, the Congress party-led United Democratic Front (UDF) staged demonstrations throughout the state, flagging the “theft of temple wealth.”
