Munir, Trump discussed trade and crypto during meet: ISPR

Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump, in a rare meeting at the White House on Wednesday, discussed avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple domains, including trade, economic development, mines and minerals, artificial intelligence, energy, cryptocurrency, and emerging technologies, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.
Trump has said that he was “honoured” to meet Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir for talks at the White House.
The two leaders met over lunch in the White House Cabinet Room. President Trump was accompanied by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Special Representative for Middle Eastern Affairs Steve Witkoff, while Field Marshal Munir was joined by Pakistan's national security adviser (who is also the head of the Inter-Services Intelligence or ISI).
“President Trump expressed keen interest in forging a mutually beneficial trade partnership with Pakistan based on long-term strategic convergence and shared interests,” the ISPR statement said. During the high-level huddle, which extended to over two hours instead of the initial one-hour schedule, Munir acknowledged President Trump's statesmanship and his ability to comprehend and address the multifaceted challenges faced by the global community.
