Kerala woman ends life after 'mob trial,' 3 SDPI men held

Three men have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody in connection with the death of a woman in her 40s allegedly after being subjected to moral policing for talking to her male friend.
Raseena, 40, a mother of three from Parambayi, was found dead at her house in Kayalode in Pinarayi village on Tuesday. MC Mubashir, 28 of VC Manzil, KA Faisal, 34, of Kaniyan Valappil, and VK Rafnas, 24 of Koodathan Kandi House, all activists of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), a political offshoot of the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI), hailing from Parambayi, were produced before the court on Thursday and remanded to judicial custody, according to police.
Police confirmed that the arrests were made based on details found in her suicide note.
