Imran may remain in jail through 2026, beyond: Report

Unless some miracle happens or there is a deal or unexpected relief from courts, former prime minister and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan may remain incarcerated through 2026 and perhaps beyond, claimed a report.

Meanwhile, member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat, who was recently expelled from the PTI for indiscipline, told a TV channel that a “deal” had been agreed upon between the government, the establishment and Imran Khan on Nov.25, 2024. “Negotiations started on Nov.3; there was a four-member committee, including Ali Amin Gandapur, Barrister Gohar Ali, Mohsin Naqvi [interior minister] and Rana Sanaullah [key ruling coalition leader]. Later, at one point, I also joined. Some things including Imran Khan's release were agreed upon.”
