Gulf Today
|March 29, 2025
The tours included a traditional Emirati Iftar, an introductory walk through heritage souqs, and a boat ride blending Emirati hospitality with the spiritual essence of the Holy Month

Heart of Sharjah, the historical and heritage destination under the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), has concluded its special Ramadan programme, which ran throughout the holy month.
The programme featured rich cultural itineraries designed to introduce visitors and guests from around the world to local customs and traditions during Ramadan, and to showcase the essence and atmosphere of the holy month within the Heart of Sharjah — surrounded by its museums, traditional houses, and souqs.
The Ramadan tours included hosting visitors for a Ramadan Iftar at Al Bait Al Ghaith Mosque — an important historical landmark in the Heart of Sharjah — where guests also had the opportunity to distribute food items round, reflecting the spirit of giving and kindness that lies at the heart of Ramadan.
The tours continued with a guided walk through its vibrant traditional souqs, which are Souq Al Arsah, Souq Al Shanasiyah, and Souq Saqr, as well as a stop at Al Bareed Café, where guests enjoyed having a cup of coffee before embarking on a serene boat ride through the Heart of Sharjah.
