Experts discuss top technologies to strengthen planet's resilience

As climate disasters continue to cause disruptions across industries, the Annual Meetings of the Global Future Councils and Cyber security 2025 convened experts in Dubai to pinpoint the most promising emerging technologies that can strengthen the planet's resilience in the face of climate risks.

The Annual Meetings of the Global Future Councils and Cyber security 2095 are organised on Oct.l4-I6 by the UAE Government in partnership with World Economic Forum (WEF), bringing together more than 700 experts and specialists from 93 countries in 37 Councils.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils, and Member of the WEF Leadership Council, asserted that the UAE leadership's focus while charting its future strategic direction is on enhancing readiness and resilience across all vital sectors, in addition to developing frameworks for international cooperation through open dialogue facilitated by prominent platforms that provide space for a diverse, multifaceted, and inclusive collective movement.

Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), was present at the session, which was moderated by Sally Mousa, Senior Presenter at Forbes Middle East, and brought together Masami Onoda, Director of the International Relations and Research Department at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA); Drew Shindell, Nicholas Professor of Earth Science at Duke University, USA; Leigh Ann Winowiecki, Global Research Leader for Soil and Land Health at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in Kenya; and Yousef Yousef, CEO at LG Sonic in the Netherlands.
