Emirati family saved from premature death risk

The General Department of Forensic Science & Criminology at Dubai Police succeeded in saving an entire Emirati family from the risk of premature death, after the sudden death of one of the family's children following dinner revealed that several members were suffering from a rare genetic disease.

After the competent authorities received a report on the death of a 7-year-old child, forensic science teams immediately started taking the necessary procedures to determine the cause of death.

The forensic report confirmed that the death was natural, but the competent team recommended a thorough genomic examination as they suspected that genetic factors might be behind the incident.

Genomic testing revealed a rare genetic disease that ran in the family history and put its members at risk of premature death.
