Driver ordered to pay Dhs51,000 for jumping red signal

The Abu Dhabi Labour Court has ordered an employee to pay his former employer Dhs51,450, for whom he had worked as a driver.
However, he committed a red light violation and was fined, which the company paid as he failed to pay the fine himself.
The company filed a lawsuit against the former employee, requesting that the court order him to pay the company Dhs51,450 for running a red light, plus late interest at a rate of 5 per cent from the date of the claim until full payment is made. The company is also seeking to recover fees, expenses, and legal costs.
