Almeida and Ayuso lead UAE Team Emirates-XRG's La Vuelta charge

With the dust barely settled from the finale of the Tour de France, the spotlight now turns to Spain and the season's final Grand Tour, La Vuelta a Espana.

Known for its brutal mountain stages and punishing terrain, the race will be the last major battleground of 2025, and UAE Team Emirates-XRG arrive with one clear objective - another Grand Tour win. Leading the charge are Joao Almeida and Juan Ayuso, both coming into the race on the back of outstanding results this season and ready to fight for glory.
La Vuelta is set for its 80th edition, with the notorious mountains of Spain promising a merciless test for the entire peloton.
The race will begin from Turin, Italy, before pushing the riders to their limits across three weeks of relentless racing.
It's a challenge that UAE Team Emirates-XRG will embrace, with Portuguese star Almeida looking to bounce back after his Tour de France crash and rediscover his blistering early season momentum. He will be joined as co-leader by hometown favourite Ayuso, who returns to his native Grand Tour for the first time since 2023, where he secured a standout 4th place finish.
