Watermelon-sized tumour removed

A five-year-old Arab girl with a watermelon-sized scalp tumour underwent a life-changing procedure at Medcare Hospital Al Safa.
Doctors removed the tumour measuring 20cm by 10cm. A typical skin tumour is usually around 6cm in size.
The girl's parents first noticed a small lump on the back of her head when she was a year old. She also had seizures. Over the years, the lesion grew and became ulcerated, causing frequent bleeding and raising the risk of infection.
