Marking a major moment for Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Cultural District, Zayed National Museum showcases the UAE's heritage through innovative design, multisensory exhibits and landmark conservation projects

The highly anticipated Zayed National Museum opens its doors tomorrow, claiming its place as the jewel in Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Cultural District's crown. It is a tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding father of the UAE, and celebrates this country's heritage, culture and incredible transformation over time.

The museum's design by British firm Foster + Partners of a falcon taking flight combines ancient techniques and modern technology to reflect the preservation of heritage and environment a true passion of the late leader. Five aerodynamic towers harness the barjeel wind tower principles traditionally used to cool dwellings in the region, and underground pipes provide a steady flow of fresh air inside the museum.
