8,000 more trains to clear festive rush

During October 1-19, more than 10 million passengers used special trains

To further cater to the expected surge in passenger traffic for Diwali and Chhath, Indian Railways plans to operate around 8,000 more special trains in the coming days, according to a statement issued by the Railway Ministry yesterday.

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the War Room at the Railway Board and took stock of passenger movement during the festive season yesterday.
