RESIDENTS HAD TO BE EVACUATED
A THUG lobbed tiles and threatened to blind police with ammonia in a rooftop standoff lasting more than six hours.
Residents in Veal Street, Grimsby, had to be evacuated and the road closed throughout the standoff until police officers forced entry and arrested Macaulay Ryan.
Ryan, 29, formerly of Chepstow Grove, Grimsby, admitted a string of offences including assault causing bodily harm, assault by beating emergency workers, common assault, two offences of criminal damage, affray and causing a public nuisance.
Prosecuting at Grimsby Crown Court, Ellen Boyes said police were called after Ryan caused violence towards his girlfriend at her home at around 10.30am on October 21 last year.
