COUNCIL LEADER GIVES UPDATE ON MAJOR PROJECTS

- By IVAN MORRIS POXTON

‘A significant improvement’ is being made to smarten up and clean Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire Council's leader has said.

A resort task force has been created to smarten up the coastal resort.

At September's full council meeting, Cllr Philip Jackson (Conservative - Waltham Ward) issued updates in his leader's statement on a number of council schemes in progress.

This included Freshney Place leisure scheme and transport hub demolition works, and action to clean Cleethorpes following an ongoing review of arrangements to manage the resort.

The new resort task force has been set up “with dedicated resource” to tidy up the resort, Cllr Jackson said.
