JANE HAS BEEN A BELOVED PET FOR 44 YEARS
A TORTOISE has gone missing from her home in Cleethorpes leaving her owners deeply concerned.
Jane the Hermann tortoise is estimated to be over 60 years old and has been the pet of Elizabeth Harmer, 72, and her family for 44 years.
Elizabeth said she was gardening at her home in Sherburn Street, which has tortoise-proof fencing, when Jane managed to escape through the garage door, which was temporarily open, on Tuesday, November 4.
With the weather getting colder, Jane may be trying to hibernate and people are asked to check their gardens and greenhouses.
