Resident questions boundary line's relaxation

'Angry Hedgehog' from George writes: The Town Planning Department again intends to remove numerous restrictive conditions from a title deed and allow the relaxation of a boundary line from 2m to Om, to convert a double garage into a second dwelling.

This is regarding a house in Fichat Street [erf number omitted in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act], George South. This makes no sense, and I have seen many similar significant relaxations and removals of conditions from the current Town Planning Department.

Staff lower down will clearly say things like: "That building should not be there," and then the senior staff allow illegal buildings and significant departures of the building lines anyway.

Town Planning defends this by saying that it is for the densification of George.
