'Worst road' transformed in net zero trial

A street once dubbed the “worst road in Chippenham” has become one of the first in the UK repaired to ‘zero’ standards.

Cracks and potholes in Ladyfield Road were a torment for residents, but to their relief it was resurfaced in October.
But what has now been revealed is that the road surface was part of a trial between council contractors and academics to create a ‘net zero’ road surface.
