The Weekend Stableford at Mendip Golf Club saw 101 men take part, with some fine scoring on show.

Division One saw a win for George Morgan, playing off a handicap of 1, with 39 points after countback from Craig Adams (playing of +1). Nick Cox was third with 37.

Division Two went to Paul Merrett with 40, two ahead of Chris Butland who beat Martin Thatcher on countback. Division Three was won by Clive Down with the best score of the day 43, he was four clear of Williams Burns with Dave Golledge a point back in third.

The Midweek Stableford had 72 competing. One of Mendip’s promising juniors Tate Sinfield-Day claimed Division One with a fine 40 points. Rob Beattie was second with 36, a point ahead of Richard Jeffery who finished third on countback.

Division Two was won by Craig Robertson with 40, just one clear of Martin Thatcher with Phil Butcher another point back in third after countback. John Hartley won Division Three with 43, he was five clear of Grant Jeffery with Alan Edwards third on 37.

Mendip’s Scratch Team, in the new Somerset Scratch League, opened their account with a fine 4-0 win over Mendip Spring. Victories came from Lee Swain & Matt Rawlings, Kevin Keene & Nick White, Benedict Toomey & team captain Dave Goldie and Jack Hayes & Wayne Black.
