India's COVID-19 cases touching 6,000; Kerala worst-hit state

India’s active COVID-19 cases have risen to 5,755, with Kerala leading the current surge, followed by Gujarat and Delhi, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Since Friday, 391 new cases have been added to the national tally.
Kerala currently has 1,806 active cases, Gujarat 717, Delhi 665, and West Bengal 622. Maharashtra has reported 577 cases, while Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh have 444 and 208, respectively. Other affected states include Tamil Nadu (194), Haryana (87), Andhra Pradesh (72), Madhya Pradesh (32), Puducherry (13), and Goa (9).
