Hybrid indigenous VTOL UAV Rudrastra successfully tested

India has achieved another significant milestone in defense technology with the successful test flight of the indigenous hybrid Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) ‘Rudrastra’. Developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL), the UAV was tested at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer on June 11.

This development is being seen as a crucial step in bolstering India’s military capabilities and delivering a strong strategic response to regional threats, particularly those emanating from Pakistan. Rudrastra is designed specifically for VTOL operations, offering enhanced operational flexibility across diverse terrains.
