Heavy rains lash Kerala, Odisha as monsoon advances rapidly

Kerala continues to experience heavy rainfall, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) maintaining its warnings for several districts as of Wednesday.
A red alert remains active for Kozhikode and Wayanad districts, signaling the risk of extremely heavy rain. Additionally, nine other districts are under an orange alert indicating very heavy rainfall, while Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha have been issued yellow alerts for isolated heavy showers. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon arrived early in parts of Odisha on Wednesday, approximately 13 days ahead of schedule, according to the IMD. The monsoon now covers the entire Malkangiri and Koraput districts, as well as parts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, and Gaj
