Rajasthan govt moving steadily towards farmers' prosperity under CM Bhajan Lal Sharma's leadership

- First India Bureau

Under the leadership of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Govt of Rajasthan has been working with commitment towards empowering farmers and ensuring holistic development of the agriculture sector.

To realise the goal of doubling farmers' income, the state govt has implemented schemes at grassroots level including fencing, farm ponds, pipelines, & micro-irrigation.

The state has provided grants for the construction of 32,164 farm ponds on farmers' fields, surpassing previous govt's five-year total of just 29,430 ponds. In the last one and a half years alone, grants have been provided for 7,465 diggis (small water reservoirs). To reduce water wastage from wells to fields, 25,787 km of irrigation pipelines have been laid, with Rs 53.89 crore disbursed as grants.
