At a Cabinet meeting chaired by CM Bhajan Lal Sharma on Monday, key decisions were made to boost urban development, medical tourism, renewable energy, and employee welfare, including wider promotion opportunities across services.
Increase in RPSC Members from 7 to 10
To manage increased workload, the Cabinet approved creation of three new member posts in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, raising the total from 7 to 10. This amendment to the RPSC (Conditions of Service) Regulations - 1974 aims to improve efficiency and expedite operations.
Approval of Township Policy - 2024
Rajasthan's new Township Policy 2024 aims to promote planned urban growth with mandatory amenities. A state-level panel will oversee implementation and review. The policy mandates 7% land for parks/playgrounds and 8% for facility zones. Developers must maintain infrastructure for five years or until handover to RWAs, with 2.5% plots withheld as collateral.
New Township Policy:
Parks, utilities made must in all projects
Real Estate Web Portal to ensure transparency; project details must be mandatorily uploaded by developers
Provisions include mixed land use, group housing, and integrated schemes. EWS/LIG plot allotments will be done by local bodies. In industrial townships, 5% land is reserved for workers' housing. Sector road and commercial strip norms will follow JDA's model. Rainwater harvesting and wastewater recycling are compulsory across all township projects.
State Clears City Gas Policy 2025
To promote a gas-based economy, the Cabinet approved the Rajasthan City Gas Distribution Policy - 2025. Aimed at reducing carbon emissions and expanding clean energy access, the policy streamlines approvals and land allotments. Valid till March 31, 2029, it also mandates a dedicated CGD portal to fast-track PNG and CNG infrastructure in smaller cities.
