ACB exposes BAP MLA's alleged bribery for Assembly questions

Arrest of a public representative in a corruption case only leads to suspension, membership is not lost. Membership is lost only if it is proved that money was taken in exchange for questions
This unprecedented action by the ACB is a major blow not just to Jaikrishn Patel personally, but also to his party.
The BAP MLA had allegedly sought the bribe in return for withdrawing starred questions raised in the Assembly—such as questions 5998 and 6284, which pertained to illegal mining in the forest areas of villages like Morda, Gadi, Kamalapur, Rajouli, Dhawan, and Gudhachandji in the Todabhim constituency, Meharda told the media in a press conference at the ACB headquarters here.
Acting under the instructions of ACB DG Ravi Prakash Meharda, ADG Smita Srivastava, and DIG Rahul Kotoki, the ACB trapped and arrested Patel while he accepted the first instalment of Rs 20 lakh.
