In March 2025, Australia’s superannuation assets surpassed $4 trillion, marking a significant milestone. Interestingly, the global cryptocurrency market cap at the same time was also estimated to be $4.1 trillion, highlighting the growing prominence of digital assets.
Bitcoin continues to dominate the space, with a market cap of US$2.3 trillion and a remarkable price of US$118,399 per coin at the time of writing.
The other major players in the crypto space in rank of their market capitalisation are Ethereum, XRP, Tether, BNB, Solana and USDC. There is no definitive number for the total universe as the actual number varies by various crypto tracking platforms.
