FPOS off to a quick start on ONDC stage

Since the farmer producer organisations (FPOS) joined the ONDC platform in April this year, 2,168 such bodies have sold as many as 3,100 varieties of value-added agricultural products in 28 states.

Officials said that the target is to bring 7,500 FPOS into the digital marketplace in the next couple of months. The platform is being promoted by the government as an alternative to global e-commerce majors such as Amazon and Walmart for supporting small enterprises.

ONDC supports FPOs in developing and the digitisation of product catalogues, generating shipping labels and facilitating digital payments so that they leverage the platform for the marketing of their products.

The network has more than 30-odd digital applications, including Mystore, Paymt, Magicpin and Delhivery in the spheres of intercity logistics provider, platform for buyers, sellers and others.
