Paytm posts ₹225-crore profit, beats estimates

PAYTM BEAT PROFIT expectations for the third quarter on Thursday, helped by a robust growth in financial and payments services segments.
Paytm has focused on its core payments services business and reduced expenses following earlier challenges.
The digital payments firm posted a net profit of ₹225 crore for the quarter ended December 31.It had reported a loss of ₹208 crore a year earlier.
Analysts expected a profit of ₹191 crore, as per data compiled by LSEG. They anticipated the festive season, which typically boosts credit activity, would contribute to tailwinds, alongside Paytm’s focus on core businesses.
