FIR against RCB, state cricket body, HC seeks status report

Bengaluru police on Thursday booked Royal Challengers Bengaluru, an event management company and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) administration in a suo motu case in connection with Wednesday's stampede near the Chinnaswamy stadium.

The Karnataka High Court also took suo motu cognizance of the incident and directed the state government to provide a status report by June 10.
The stampede had occurred when thousands gathered to celebrate RCB's IPL victory. Eleven people were killed and several others were injured in the stampede that broke out on Wednesday afternoon. Cubbon Park police station's inspector Girish AK said in the complaint that the KSCA administration was denied permission to hold the celebrations.
