TECHNO DIGITAL TO INVEST $1 BN IN HYPERSCALE, EDGE DATA CENTRES NATIONWIDE
INDIA'S DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE just got a major boost. Techno Digital, the digital infrastructure arm of Techno Electric & Engineering Company, will unveil its 36 MW data centre at Siruseri Sipcot IT Park in Chennai on Thursday. This next-gen facility is a part of Techno Digital's $1 billion investment towards building future-ready, sustainable digital infrastructure across the country. It plans to build a network of hyperscale and edge data centres with 250 MW combined capacity over five years.
While hyperscale data centres are huge facilities that store and process massive workloads and data for large companies, edge data centres house computing and storage resources in a smaller footprint and are closer to end-users. India is projected to see a significant surge in its data centre capacity, with analysts predicting it will reach approximately 17 GW by 2030, up from 1.3 GW at present.
