Sector- and stock-specific actions likely: Analysts

Though the benchmark indices ended flat during the special session held on the Budget day, the impact of the announcements made by the finance minister will be visible during this week.
By doing away with tax on income of up to ₹12 lakh under the new tax regime, the government is looking to give a bump to consumption, which is seen positive for the FMCG, auto and retail sectors. Analysts say this will play out in sectoral and stock-specific action over the next few days.
"The actual reaction is likely to be witnessed on Monday, so we need to wait for a day or two to understand whether the market has really discounted the Budget factor or not," a market participant said.
