THE INVESTIGATIONS WILL determine whether acts, policies, and practices of each of these economies related to the failure to impose and effec- tively enforce a ban on the importation of goods produced with forced laborare unreason- able or discriminatory and bur- den or restrict US commerce,’a statement from the US Trade Representative’s office said.

These investigations— launched under Section 301(b) of the Trade Act of 1974— involve countries such as Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Pakistan and Bangladesh,among others.
