GROWING UP IN a Marathi household, I assumed multilingualism was an urban trend.
But my summer trips back to Sindhudurg changed that perspective. My nieces and their friends effortlessly switched between two languages, with some picking up a third. This reflects a new generation that is eager to learn, explore, and connect through languages.
Globally, people are embracing new languages — to study abroad, build careers, or immerse themselves in another culture. Professionals are polishing their English, French, Mandarin, etc,and bilingual CVs are on the rise.
