NITI Aayog unveils road map for advanced manufacturing

NITI AAYOG'S FRONTIER Tech Hub has introduced a comprehensive road map titled “Reimagining Manufacturing: India’s Roadmap to Global Leadership in Advanced Manufacturing.” This identifies 13 high-impact manufacturing sectors and five key clusters, with artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced materials, digital twins, and robotics as critical enablers. The goal is to achieve a 35% contribution of the manufacturing sector to India’s GDP.
The key clusters outlined in the report include engineering, consumer products, life sciences and electronics. The report suggests prioritising advanced manufacturing under the National Manufacturing Mission (NMM), establishing a Global Frontier Technology Institute to facilitate the large-scale ad
