Artificial intelligence (AI) has progressed from being a buzzword to becoming an integral part of every innovation and business operation.

Agentic AI, a subset of AI applications, is making its way with its sophisticated reasoning, autonomy, and adaptability.

Wipro's AI-powered approach allows them to architect industry and cross-industry solutions that drive real business outcomes. In this interview, Nagendra Bandaru, president, Technology Services, Wipro, speaks to Sudhir Chowdhary on the IT major's approach to implementation and how it is helping enterprises stay ahead of the curve. Excerpts:

There has been much discussion about AI in IT services. Is it being used in practical applications?

AI's deployment in IT services has moved beyond experimentation to mainstream integration. AI is increasingly becoming central to every engagement, enabling greater productivity and smarter experiences. We are infusing AI into our delivery engagements to significantly enhance speed and quality. For example, by integrating AI across the software development lifecycle we have accelerated development cycles, improved code quality, and reduced defects.

Beyond software development, we are leveraging AI across client engagements and internal operations, such as HR, finance, legal, and other functional areas. For example, our internal medical claims solution processes over 10,000 claims monthly, completely touchless, enhancing both speed and service quality.

How is Wipro planning to capitalize on the growing trend of hybrid deals in IT services?
