While residential markets faced headwinds this year, the office sector recorded 60 million square feet of gross leasing between January and September 2025, the highest for the first nine months of any year.

- Anshuman Magazine, chairman and CEO of CBRE India, South-East Asia, Middle East & Africa

Anshuman Magazine, chairman and CEO of CBRE India, South-East Asia, Middle East & Africa, shares his outlook on various segments and trends in the property market in an interaction with Raghavendra Kamath.

Excerpts

We are optimistic for next year. Beyond that, we are cautiously optimistic because it's difficult to predict. In 2024, almost 81.4 million square feet of office space was taken up. We hope to exceed that by a small margin this year, maybe 4 to 5% higher. The good news is that despite a high base, we're still growing by a few percentage points compared to the previous year. We will know the exact numbers soon, but the pipeline looks promising for 2026.

Why do you think not many REITs are getting listed?
