Keen to deepen ties with India: US under secy

TRANSLATING THE VISION enunciated by President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their February meeting into "concrete progress" was the focus of talks on Tuesday between US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Hooker is on a five-day visit to India from Sunday to advance bilateral strategic and economic ties. The relations between New Delhi and Washington are on a downturn after Trump doubled tariffs on Indian goods to a whopping 50% in August including a 25% additional duties for India's purchase of Russian crude oil.
