Veteran to honour late friend as well as heroes from war

AN inspirational Army veteran who has multiple sclerosis (MS) will be taking on a daunting challenge in June to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Second World War - and in memory of a close friend.
Grant Harvey, 52, has signed up to complete the 200-mile Big Battlefield Bike Ride, organised by veteran's charity Help for Heroes, which is set to take place between June 17 and 21.
Grant, who lives in Okehampton, said: "I know it's going to be tough. My condition means I get tired more easily. But my friend who lost his life earlier this year completed this bike ride challenge every year - and I want to do it to honour him, remember those who fought to defend our country, and to raise much-needed funds for Help for Heroes."
