Man who stabbed his uncle to death will be detained in a secure hospital

A 36-YEAR-OLD man who stabbed his uncle to death in a quiet village near Exeter last summer has been sentenced at Exeter Crown Court.
Corin Harper-Davis, 37, of Hither Green in London, was arrested on July 31, 2024, after his uncle Jonathan Harper was found in cardiac arrest at a property in Brampford Speke. Mr Harper, a 63-year-old retired teacher from Kent, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Harper-Davis had fled the property, but was located nearby in Pikes Cottage Road, and was initially charged with murder. However, he went on to admit to manslaughter by diminished responsibility at Exeter Crown Court on January 30.
