TEAM-MATES RALLY ROUND WINGER AS HE APOLOGISES FOR PENALTY BLUNDER
BUKAYO SAKA’S Arsenal team-mates have backed the winger to bounce back from his penalty miss against West Ham and play a decisive role in the title run-in.
Saka sent his spot-kick wide, as Arsenal blew a two-goal lead at the London Stadium yesterday to draw 2-2.
Manchester City, who sit four points off the Gunners in second, are now favourites for the title. Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand on Arsenal and also host them at the Etihad a week on Wednesday.
Saka apologised for his penalty miss which would have restored Arsenal’s two-goal lead. Instead, the Hammers made it 2-2, as Jarrod Bowen struck just 140 seconds later.
“Regardless of the outcome, I’ll always accept my responsibility,” Saka wrote on Instagram. “Apologies Gunners, I’ll do everything I can to make it right.”
