Suspect in court after 11-year-old girl stabbed in Leicester Square

AMAN was today set to appear in court charged with attempted murder over the stabbing of an 11-year-old girl in Leicester Square.
Pintaru, 32, of no fixed address, has also been charged with possession of a bladed article and was due at Westminster magistrates' court.
Police were called to Leicester Square shortly after 11.30am yesterday following reports of a stabbing. A girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It was initially thought her mother, aged 34, was also hurt but police said it was later confirmed that blood from her daughter's injuries had been mistaken for wounds of her own.
