Mordaunt spells out her 'small-state and low-tax' vision as she woos Tories

PENNY MORDAUNT today laid out her Tory leadership campaign by outlining her small-state, low-tax vision for Britain.
She is one of the frontrunners as MPs begin the process of voting to select the final two candidates to be the next prime minister, having racked up the second-highest number of endorsements after Rishi Sunak.
She told supporters that a government led by her would focus on the "four Is: investment, infrastructure, incentives and innovation".
"Recently I think our party has lost our sense of self," she said as she called for a return to the Tory "hit" policies of "low tax, small state, personal responsibility".
"We want to get back to that," she said.
The International Trade minister was an ardent Brexiteer who first rose to prominence in 2016 as a face of the Vote Leave campaign.
