Met Pc nearly loses hand in Hainault sword rampage

A FEMALE police officer came close to losing her hand in the sword rampage which killed a 14-year-old boy, Scotland Yard chief Sir Mark Rowley said today.
The Metropolitan Police Commissioner described the 22-minute attack in Hainault, east London, as “horrific” and “everyone’s worst nightmare”.
The suspect drove his van into a house before slashing members of the public and police who responded to 999 calls at about 7am yesterday.
The teenage victim, named as Daniel, was fatally stabbed as he made his way to £23,000-a-year Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green, where Nottingham attack victim Grace O’Malley-Kumar, inset, went before going to university.
The heroic officer and her inspector, whose hand was also “badly damaged”, were among four people injured.
