Grieving mother tells how son took Rubik's Cube on Titan sub to break record

THE teenage son of a London billionaire who died alongside his father on the Titan submersible took a Rubik’s Cube with him because he wanted to break the world record for solving it, his mother has said.
Christine Dawood said her son Suleman, 19, was “so excited” to try to beat the puzzle 3,700 metres below the ocean surface.
The student had applied to Guinness World Records for his bid and his father Shahzada had brought a camera with him to capture the moment.
Mrs Dawood said her son carried the cube with him everywhere and could solve it in 12 seconds.
In her first interview since the tragedy, Mrs Dawood, told the BBC: “He said, ‘I'm going to solve the Rubik’s Cube 3,700 metres below sea at the Titanic.”
The family, from Surbiton in southwest London, boarded the support vessel the Polar Prince on Father’s Day hoping for the trip of a lifetime.
