Eight held after ‘truly alarming' machete violence in Southend

EIGHT people have been arrested and weapons seized after a machete fight broke out on the seafront in Southend.
Shocking footage showed at least four people dressed in black slashing at each other near the Adventure Island theme park last night.
Several people were “critically injured”, Southend MP Bayo Alaba said and Essex Police seized seven weapons following the “targeted attacks”. Other images showed large numbers of young people running through the city.
