Renovation for cinema
East Coast and The Wolds Target
|December 24, 2025
A HISTORIC cinema in Skegness is set to undergo a major transformation.
Tower Cinema has been on Lumley Road for more than a hundred years and is currently receiving some much-needed refurbishment works.
The original cinema was built in the 1920s, and it was hit by a bomb on January 18, 1941. The site was then rebuilt in the 1940s before reopening in 1951, and it has remained a popular destination ever since.
The work on the cinema will enhance the building’s appeal and also highlight the arcade, which is part of the same building.
The improvements will focus on repairing the wall of the building that faces Lumley Road, as well as the repointing, window repairs and improvements to the entrance and canopy area.
